People have already come up with a lot of ways to use ChatGPT, the AI chatbot that has gone viral because it can write passable text for almost any prompt.
The thing is, ChatGPT often has too many users. There is an unknown number of users that keeps you from turning it on. You end up with a message that says "over capacity" and not much else to do.
Even though ChatGPT is the most popular AI chatbot right now, it's good to know that there are other options. We've put together a list of some other chatbots that you could use instead of ChatGPT if you can't get in.
Microsoft's Bing search engine uses AI.
This one might be a little harder to use, since you have to ask permission to use Microsoft's AI-powered Bing tool. We've put together some tips on how you might be able to skip the line.
Just know that if you do get access, the AI-powered Bing seems to have gotten into the habit of giving weird, creepy answers.
You don't have to sign up to try it out.
You can also try out the AI-powered Bing without signing up for it. Cecily Mauran of Mashable wrote that you can check out the tool on Bing's home page. Just click "learn more" when you see a message about the new Bing coming soon.
2. The Bard of Google
Again, it might be hard to actually get to this one. Most likely, there will be a waiting list. Right now, only a small group of testers have access to Bard, and so far, it doesn't seem to be doing much to impress. Still, that's something to keep an eye on once the public has full access.
3. Jasper
Jasper is better for business use than something like ChatGPT, but it can also be used for personal use. It will cost money, but it is supposed to be an AI copywriter that will make blogs, ads, and social copy better.
4.
YouChat has a version of what ChatGPT does, but it's not as sleek as ChatGPT. I asked it to write a song about chicken wings in the style of, say, the Beatles. It answered the question pretty much the same way ChatGPT would have.
The song is not excellent, but it is impressive.
YouChat is different from ChatGPT in that it also tells you where the answer came from. Its main purpose is to search, but it still responds pretty well to commands like ChatGPT.
5.
ChatSonic costs money to subscribe to, but it's made to be a chatbot like ChatGPT. In fact, the site for the tool says that it is better than ChatGPT. You can try it out for free, but after that it will cost about US$13 per month.
